With Bianca’s surprising exit last week (and Heather before her) I had run out of someone to root for on a show I’ve grown to love again. Saleisha shared the final spotlight with Jenah and Chantal, and I assumed that perky pimento would get lost sandwiched between two leggy blondes.
The trio’s challenge was to record a commercial for Cover Girl lip gloss (something about fruit and spritzers) and all three stumbled with the script and needed take after take (and threats of cue cards) to finally get it right. I wasn’t bowled over by any of them, but I think tough and cold Jenah had the hardest time. The judges have called her on her steel and sarcastic exterior in the past, and this challenge was no place to show what a badass you are. As expected Jenah caught a raft of crap from the judges who wouldn’t let down until she cried and showed the “real” Jenah. How about a nervous Jenah who was harangued and humiliated into talking about her hard childhood giving up her own youth to raise her sisters? Good job Jenah, now leave. Jenah was swiftly eliminated midshow which set up the final showdown between Saleisha and Chantal, the firecracker and the cricket.
The girls were invited to participate in a fashion show with Chinese designer Qi Gang whose beautiful dresses were brought to life by eager muses set against a mysterious backdrop, Beijing’s Forbidden City. Saleisha ruled the runway and her body, staying in control of her fierce walk, while Chantal stiffly stumbled with tiny baby steps and almost killed a guy on stilts when her dress got caught up in his peg legs. She recovered, kind of, but it was obvious from the formal walk off that Saleisha had mastered the high fashion art of the runway walk to compliment her already stellar catalogue prowess. Tyra and the panel pretended to debate but the choice was obvious. Saleisha nailed it in the commercial and photo shoot, and with her new command of couture she was undeniable and her coronation as America’s Next Top Model was a foregone conclusion. Of course Chantal was sad and had tears for a very different reason, but her interchangeability with every other blonde in the world was not enough to set her apart from bubbly modeling aficionado Saleisha. Viva Saleisha!

First of all, everyone should be ashamed of their selves, saleisha earned that title, if it was a big deal tyra shouldn't have allowed her to be on the show, to let her go through all of that, win and then degrade her, Shame on tyra. saleisha is a wonderfull young woman and elite should be taking to court for breecing the contract and saying those awfull things about her. And everyone should grt their fact right, saleisha mom is not on drugs nor has a drug problem, saleisha has the most beautiful loving mother, who busted her ass to give saleisha a good life, and yes her mom had low self esteem, dont know why because she is freaking beautiful, just stunning and her mom is the one who sent saleisha to t-zone because she as a single parent felt she could not help her when she had her own insecurities, It take a strong, brave women to to do something like that, all those likes seventeen magazine said about her, do your homework people. Her father is the one with the problems, her mom left him when she was less then a year, you people just stop it. KARMA thats all i have to say....
