"I was chasing after a ghost and the ghost won," Jennifer Love Hewitt told talk show host Craig Ferguson earlier this month after he helped her onto his stage. She was wearing a protective boot and walking with a severe limp after injuring herself on the set of her popular CBS series The Ghost Whisperer, on which she stars as a young paranormal investigator. The ankle is almost healed. The latest blip has her denying rumors that she and fiancée Ross McCall are expecting their first child. Such tabloid talk has swirled around the actress since she broke out in the 1997 movie I Know What You Did Last Summer and helped raise temperatures on the late great 90s teen (and almost always overlooked )TV drama Party of Five. It begs the question, what would life be like without Love?
