
Yesterday's ABC upfronts announced a fall lineup that includes the Ashton Kutcher-produced game show Opportunity Knocks and the drama Life on Mars about a NYC detective who suffers an on-the-job accident that mysteriously launches him back to the 1970s. ABC President of Entertainment Steve McPherson said the network had 17 pilots in development, including Mike Judge's animated send-up of political correctness,The Goode Family, a relationship sitcom called 4 Play from the producers of Will & Grace. McPherson also said ABC is picking up Scrubs, which NBC had dropped after seven seasons. The network also highlighted wacky new half hour game shows Wipeout and I Survived A Japanese Game Show, their new High School Musical competition show hosted by Nick Lachey, and the Disney Channel movie Camp Rock starring the Jonas Brothers. Late night host Jimmy Kimmel provided the laughs. "TV sets are bigger than ever. Kids are fatter than ever. And gas is more expensive than ever. We have America on the couch! If we can't sell our stuff, we should be ashamed of ourselves."
