The latest news in the flurry of 90210 Spin-off casting news is that Micehael Steger will be joining the upcoming CW series as a student of Persian descent and producer of West Beverly Hills High School's TV newscasts. Steger's character, who spins around town in his convertible Cadillac, is also a Scientologist who drinks non-alcoholic wine to fit in with the partying crowd, according to TV Guide. With all of the dizzying casting announcements lately, it's hard to keep track of who's doing what. Here's a breakdown of the current cast:
1) Shenae Grimes (Degrassi: The Next Generation) will play the family's teenage daughter Annie Mills (the Brenda Walsh character), which attends West Beverly Hills High School.
2) Lori Loughlin (Full House) will play the mom, Celia Mills, a former Olympic Games medalist in cycling.
3) Jessica Stroup (Prom Night) stars as Annie's classmate Silver who produces a YouTube type video series "Answers to life's inane questions answered by a 15-year-old in a bikini."
4) Jessica Walter (Arrested Development) will play the family's alcoholic grandmother Tabitha Mills.
5) Ryan Egghold (Dirt) will play Ryan Matthews, a cool English lit teacher at West Beverly High whose unorthodox teaching style puts him at odds with his fellow teachers and sometimes too close with his students.
