Welcome to this week’s installment of The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly Betty.

The good: the show got its heart back, with plenty of sweet moments. Eddie Cibrian. In shorts.

The bad: Amanda has no story. A lot of the humor is still on strike.

The ugly: Marc’s tie worn around his bare neck.

Not the least bit sorry-Charlie interrupts Betty and Henry’s dinner. Tired of being a doormat, Betty channels George Constanza and decides to be the opposite of her usual self. She volunteers to throw Charlie a baby shower, hoping that if she befriends her Charlie will back off. Claire delivers tough love: Betty needs to accept that she and Henry have no future. To her shock, Henry tells Betty he wants to stay with her forever. Charlie is a beeyotch at the shower. Betty snaps and lets her know she’s hanging on to Henry. Charlie’s water breaks. She confides how difficult it was to lose Henry to Betty. Henry arrives before Charlie gives birth. As Betty watches them bond over their baby boy, she realizes staying with Henry won’t be easy.

Christina learns she’s the gestational carrier for the antichrist AKA Wili and Bradford’s baby. Christina freaks. Wili offers her a fortune to go through with the surrogacy. All Christina wants is Wili’s promise that she will love the child. Wili dramatically informs the Meades that she’s having Bradford’s baby.

Post Renee, Daniel’s returned to womanizing. Betty persuades him to see a therapist. Daniel seduces the hot blonde. It takes the wisdom of Papa Suarez to set him straight. Daniel returns to his true passion --- Mode.

Justin’s gym teacher, Eddie Cibrian, wants to flunk him. Hilda points out that she’s written a note to excuse Justin. Coach Superman won’t let him off the hook. Hilda decides to make nice. She gives him a haircut, but what really needs cutting is the sexual tension. With a knife. She accidentally slices his ear. Hilda realizes she’s attracted to a man for the first time since Santos died. She apologizes to Coach Invasion, who agrees to pass Justin if he choreographs the cheerleaders. Trivia note: both Hilda’s love interests are played by actors who formerly portrayed murderers on The Young & The Restless.

Line of the week: Wili on her return to Mode, “It’s going to be the greatest comeback since Jesus.”
