They don’t look happy. In fact, they look terrible. They have agreed not to talk to reporters. Jack reminds them that they all know the story and that if they don’t answer something people will just assume they are in shock. Sun tells Jack that they are in shock. The plane lands. Hurley’s parents, jack’s mom, and Sun’s parents are there to greet them. Kate and Sayid have nobody. Overall this was a solid episode of Lost. As audience members we are used to this kind of transitional episode. No new big mysteries are presented. Some questions are answered. A few storylines are brought to a close, but mostly this kind of episode serves as a set-up to what will follow, in this case the two hour season finale in two weeks.

At the beach, the campers are wondering about the tracker that mysteriously fell from the copter. They let Daniel use it. He dials one way, so that they can hear what is happening on the copter. Keamy is heard telling Frank to put the copter down at the orchid. Jack leaves to go after them. Juliet doesn’t want him to because of his recent operation. He tells her once again, “I promised these people I would get them off the island.” How many times is Jack going to repeat his promise? I want to celebrate a show that‚s getting it right ˆ One Life To Live. I'm not the first person to sing the praises of OLTL‚s headwriter Ron Carlivati. (Hey, daytime, great things happen when you promote from within!) But I want to add my voice to the chorus. Carlivati has turned the show into what a soap opera ought to be ˆ with humor, likable characters, rootable couples and umbrella stories that utilize the show‚s history. It‚s both escapist and relatable. It‚s also the only soap which feels like it takes place in the 21st century. Last Friday‚s episode, cleverly titled „Uncle-cest Is Best‰ featured a sequence in which David Vickers broke the 4th wall as he delivered a monologue that explained how he ended up as a bus boy in a Texas diner. Using nothing but limbo sets, the show managed to portray how David‚s nascent television career was hilariously derailed by the writers strike. (I can relate.) The same episode also contained a well-shot location sequence and, oh yeah, a guest appearance by Snoop Dogg. It was the most entertaining, original hour of television ˆ daytime or primetime ˆ I watched last week. This week features a soap wedding ˆ the kind where the whole cast shows up in fabulous dresses and big secrets are revealed. Remember those? The ratings have yet to reflect the show's brilliance, so I'm beseeching all of you to check it out. We begin with a classic prank Dwight to intercept all his calls to a Bluetooth while Jim pretends to be Dwight in front of him. Genius. Michael comes skipping in. Why the extra jump? Because it’s Human Resources Toby’s last day. It’s a day Michael will remember forever and a going away party is needed. Michael naturally wants a huge street parade or any other way to celebrate the devil exploding and evil being gone forever. Sounds about right to describe the mildest mannered person in the office. But since there’s not enough money for such an end of all evil Michael donates his birthday money in hopes of having at least an anti gravity machine. Pam finds out she was accepted into a graphic design program in New York for 3 months and Jim assures her they’ll make it work. He also still plans to propose. Sweetest. Guy. Ever. To replace Toby, Amy Ryan guest stars as Holly. Michael instantly hates her for being in HR because, his job is to make the office fun, and hers is to make it lame. But when Holly makes a few jokes, Michael quickly comes to like her, or even love her. He makes her a mix tape of N3Ps – yes, N3Ps – and tells Jim he wants to give two messages. One, welcome to Scranton, and two, I love you. Jim unexpectedly gives Michael real advice to get to know Holly like he did with Pam. Inspired, Jim gives Phyllis money for fireworks so he can propose that night. Or he really, really is going to miss Toby. Not that he doesn't like the attention, but Nayyar has loftier thoughts and little time. He is playwright, has a Master in Theatre from Temple University in Philadelphia, and even won a Garland award for his role in a run at the Dahlia theater in Los Angeles. In a word, Nayyar, 27, is "cool." Except for today -- today Koothrappali's real-life counterpart has a sinus infection. His dressing room is about 104 degrees to ward off the sniffles. Even the wall-size portrait of Leonardo DaVinci's "Vitruvian Man" looks like he's about to break a sweat. In 30 minutes, Koothrappali will be back at the set for Leonard's surprise party, but first he makes time to chat about BBT while battling his sinuses.

Do you play Koothrappali as a cultural outsider? He is always one step off. He doesn't really fit into America or the real world. I don't say "okay wow, I'm going to bring my culture to this part."
